Many Native Americans still perform the ritual today, and it can be seen on several reservations in the United States. Men and women gathered together for a rain dance and wore special headdresses and clothing. The jewels used in the clothing, such as turquoise, had special significance, as well as the patterns on the clothing and the use of goat hair in the headdresses.

Dragon dance

The history of the Dragon Dance can be dated back to the Han Dynasty (180-230 AD) in ancient China and, like the lion dance, plays an important part in Chinese culture. The Dragon itself has always been regarded as a Sacred creature, symbolising power, courage, righteousness and dignity amongst others.

This time I choose to paint an instrument. I kept the design work at high level and so had to do some last  minute improvisations. The cello is a beautiful musical instrument. It's part of the violin family. Did you know that the name cello is an abbreviation of the Italian word violoncello?

Been busy lately but finally got back to completing another art work. This time its from Spain. Flamenco is usually a dance form in which you see a lot of red. I thought of taking a different approach and put in a little blue instead. As before, I design the work on computer and then paint it on canvas.
